About the Founder

Amanda Heller is an Air Force Veteran, former federal Special Agent, investigator, strategist, and risk and security professional who has built a career around one fundamental skill: seeing what others miss before it becomes consequential.

Her professional experience spans federal law enforcement, investigations, security, risk, organizational assessment, and strategy. Across complex and high-stakes environments, Amanda has been responsible for gathering and evaluating information, identifying vulnerabilities, challenging assumptions, navigating ambiguity, and translating what she finds into decisions and action.

She founded Naledi Group to bring that same investigative lens to organizational leadership.

Amanda works with executives and leadership teams to identify the vulnerabilities, dependencies, friction, and hidden points of failure that can quietly limit organizational capacity—or become business risk and operational disruption when circumstances change. Her approach goes beyond identifying what is wrong. She works alongside leaders to determine what matters, prioritize action, and build practical structures that strengthen the organization without compromising what made it successful in the first place.

Her perspective is informed not only by investigations and organizational risk, but by a career spent operating at the intersection of people, systems, security, and consequential decision-making. She is particularly interested in how organizations prepare for uncertainty, how leaders make decisions before a crisis forces them to, and how changes in the broader security, geopolitical, and business environment create risks that may not yet be visible inside an organization.

Amanda is also a bestselling author, poet, entrepreneur, and the founder of a second company, bringing an operator's perspective to her advisory work. She understands that leaders are not managing organizations in theory—they are responsible for businesses, teams, reputations, livelihoods, and something they have worked extraordinarily hard to build.

That is the philosophy behind Naledi Group:

Find vulnerabilities early
Understand what matters
Steward effectively, always true in the capacity to withstand what comes next

Naledi

Behind the Name

Naledi means "star" in Sesotho & Setswana

Naledi is associated with both guidance and discovery.

It is also found in Homo naledi, the remarkable hominin species discovered in South Africa's Rising Star cave system. Its discovery challenged existing assumptions about human evolution and reminded us that what we think we know can change when we uncover what was previously unseen.

That idea sits at the heart of Naledi Group: look deeper, challenge assumptions, and find what others may have missed in order to steward responsible action based on ever-changing knowledge.
